Jeannie Ginsberg guided us through the college-application process for our two children, which resulted in them being accepted “early action” into their first-choice schools: Harvard and Franklin & Marshall.

Jeannie listened carefully to their individual dreams and helped draft a realistic list of colleges given their qualifications, interests and desires. Her astute and insightful coaching through the application process and her advocacy on their behalf with college admissions staff members were key to maximizing the opportunities and offers they received. We also appreciated her wisdom and perceptive emotional support during those stressful moments that seem to be an inevitable part of the college-admissions journey.

Mrs. Ginsberg was truly my guide and supporter throughout the college admissions process. She provided concrete benchmarks and strategies for everything from target test scores to timelines as well as critical emotional support and encouragement amidst the challenges of application writing and the stress of waiting to hear back from schools. Most importantly, Mrs. Ginsberg took the time to really get to know me, which enabled her to advocate so effectively for my candidacy with admissions representatives and gave me the confidence to shoot for my dream school. My experiences under the guidance of Mrs. Ginsberg were nothing short of phenomenal. She is knowledgable, caring, organized, and most importantly, passionate about her job. Our journey together began in a rather unorthodox fashion; she assumed the position as my college guidance counselor about halfway through the application process, when my first counselor moved to another city. Mrs. Ginsberg spent the time to connect with me on a level much deeper than just test scores and grades and was readily available to help me out whenever I needed. When it came time for me to make the ever-so-important decision of which school to attend, I did not hesitate to seek out Mrs. Ginsberg’s help. As I sat in her office torn between two universities, she patiently spoke with me about my options in a completely unbiased manner and was able to elucidate my thoughts amongst the jumble of confusion in my head, giving me the confidence and reassurance I needed to make my decision. I am beyond grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Mrs. Ginsberg. She is simply the best.

Mrs. Ginsberg only became my college guidance counselor halfway through my senior year and immediately took my needs and requests as seriously as if she had been working with me since before I applied to a single school. She provided and continues to provide me with unwavering support and takes personal responsibility for my needs. Working with Mrs. Ginsberg has been a wonderful experience that, because of her kindness and caring nature, has helped form a valuable and lasting relationship.

Jeannie worked effectively with each of our children, adapting to their distinctly different personalities and varying agendas with respect to their transition from high school to college. We always felt that Jeannie took a genuine personal interest in our family, making a special effort to get to know each child so as to better advise us during the application process.

Jeannie is a great listener and has been very responsive to our needs. When working with our children, she has always been well-prepared, organized, and extremely knowledgeable in terms of how to choose and apply to colleges. She was well-informed about the characteristics and features of specific schools and had important insights derived from her years of experience and fund of knowledge. Jeannie, of course, paid close attention to important details such as resume composition and interviewing skills, but also added some nice additional touches to our children’s applications such as writing thank you notes after interviews and tours. We had an excellent experience with Jeannie and would recommend her highly.

I have worked with Jean Ginsberg as a college counselor for three of my children. Each child had a different approach to their college search and the college application process. She was masterful in reducing the stress that comes along with the college search. When things became tense at home, during essay writing or just the waiting period, she had the ability to create peace in our house.
